• About Us : As the Taiwan began its jTah Kong Chemical Industrial Corpney in industrial development in the 1960's, an upsurge in textile and plastic product exports and printing ink processing resulted in a pressing need for colorings.In order to meet this growing domestic demand, Tah Kong Chemical Industrial Corporation was established on April 20th. 1966. On November 30th of the same year, Tah Kong's Wuku factory formally commenced production of processed pigments.Early on in its development, Tah Kong established itself as a leader in the field. This, and the desire to keep in step with the growing demand for a greater variety of pigment resources, led Tah Kong to enter into a Sino-Japanese joint venture with Kuzumi Pigment Co., Ltd. in 1969 and at the same time expand its capabilities with the installation of a few synthetic organic pigment production line. Three years later in 1972, the Sino-Japanese joint venture increased its capitalization, thus raising its pigment production output.In September of 1973, Kuzumi Pigment Co., Tah Kong's joint venture partner, was restructured to form Sumika Color Co., Ltd. The ensuing cooperative bilateral relationship between the two companies grew even tighter.The Taoyuan Plant was established just four years later in 1977, taking over the production of processed pigment from the Wuku plant, where they had originally been produced. The Wuku plant was then devoted entirely to the production of synthetic pigments.Tah Kong, again maintaining its lead in pigment production, completed construction of its Tayuan plant in 1989, while discontinuing production at the older plant in Wuku. Synthetic pigment production was then transferred to the Tayuan plant, where semi-automated equipment had been installed. As the Tayuan plant raised production efficiency by means of its upgraded semi-automated equipment, production capacity and output rose. Tah Kong also took the lead in environmental protection with its Tayuan plant, which has been fully outfitted with the best in pollution-prevention equipment.With the investment and expansion that has been carried out over many years, Tah Kong's annual sales grew from NT$3.6 million in 1967 to NT$1,260 million in 2002 ample proof that Tah Kong is a growing enterprise dedicated to improvement.Tah Kong believes that environmental protection is the vital lifeblood for enterprises to survive continuously, the company takes up environmental protection responsibility as one of its basic tasks. For years Tah Kong has continued invest on pollution control equipment (presently pollution control investment reaches 100 M NTD), cultivates environmental protection professionals, and aggressively participates into environmental protection related projects held by research organizations; Tah Kong has listed environmental protection as an important assessment item for the R&D process and continuously develops improved processes and new technologies to ensure a less-contaminated working environment.Based on the quality service philosophy of "think for the customer and raise customer satisfaction", the company makes strict controls on raw materials, parts supplies and the processes right from the beginning of R&D and product design. We have senior and professional quality control staff (about 9 % of total employees) who set up strict controls for the quality according to customer requirements; in the past years, "stable quality" has been the major recognition customers had on Tah Kong. We attained BVQI ISO 9002 certification in 1997 and the 2000 version BVQI ISO 9001 certification in 2001.Also in 1998,we attained government's certification for initial public offering (IPO) in Taiwan's stock market.
