• About Us : The vine growing area Vanju Mare Orevita is part of the Dealurile Munteniei and Olteniei viticultural region and it is located in the Mehedinti County, Romania, betVie Vin Vinju Mareen the 440 450 parallels. Vie Vin Vinju Mare company was founded in 2001 by people who always felt that this vine growing area is the heart of the red wines in Romania and not only. The share-holders purchased the old winery located in Vanju Mare and 380 ha of land with a view to maintain and honour the natural richness of this region by obtaining high class wines and make them famous again. The founders of Vie Vin Vinju Mare company work with a team of specialists that have more than two decades of experience in vine growing and wine making and with young specialists and trainees with real skills for this profession, that makes the wine maker an artist who develops the desired personality and character of the wine. At present, 250 ha of the land owned by the company are planted with vine of the varietals Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon, Pinot Noir, Sauvignon Blanc, Pinot Gris, Italian Riesling, Feteasca Regala, Tamaioasa Romaneasca, divided in three farms located in Bucura, Orevita and Nicolae Balcescu. Part of these surfaces are being renewed and replanted. The winery purchased in 2001 was modernized and retrofitted to produce high class wines by investing more than 1 million EURO. The modern technology used to produce wine from the grapes grown on our own plantations and the professionalism of our personnel offers to our clients the guarantee of special, high class wines. The grapes are processed with stainless steel equipment and presses with programmable pressure of the latest generation. The fermentation process takes place in stainless steel tanks with controlled temperature that ensure the fermentation conditions both for the red and for the white wines. The stainless steel tanks and the refrigeration and heating equipment of Italian technology enables both the fermentation process and keeping the wine at constant temperature. The wines are aged in oak barrels Bordeaux type. The wine is delivered bottled both in bottles under inert gas or in the bag in box system using up to date, imported installations and materials.
