• About Us : IntroductionBoranal Ltd. was established in 1989 as the first solely private winery in Hungary, Boranal Kft licence number H-0001 being a perfect example of such a historical distinction.Export sale has been our main activity since the foundation. Although our products may be unknown in the Hungarian market, wine consumers from 15 countries-spanning from USA to China- associate them with tradition and reliable quality.Being an Alfold located winery our mission is to popularize the wines of Kunsag wine region, especially the Kiskoros Kadarka all over the world.The Carpathians have the best geographical conditions compared to other parts of Europe lying on the same latitude, as the sum of sunny hours is the highest in the middle of the basin, in the area we call Kunsag. The lower layers created from loess and clay are covered mainly by sand. The thin surface of the sand warms up quickly and then acts like a mirror, heating the grapevines from the bottom by reflecting the sunshine.We started our winery as a greenfield investment. We have developed step by step and today we belong to the most up-to-date equipped wine cellars in Hungary. We carry out a complete wine-making procedure, carefully processing the grapes harvested in our own wineyards, professionally treating the resulting must and finally embottling the wine. We are farming on more than 90 hectares, but within the frame of long term co-operation we receive the harvest of 500 hectares from our partners in every autumn.Our main profile is exporting as we sell bottled wine to countries all over the world. We grow mostly international varieties although none of the traditional Hungarian types is missing from our range of brands. In order the fulfill all demands of the market, we expanded our supply with sparkling wine in 2006.The pride of our company is the traditional New-Wine Blessing Ceremony hold in every November, when Mnsgr. Dr. Balazs Babel, the archbishop of Kalocsa-Kecskemet archbishopric consecrates our new wines and gives blessings to our consumers.
