• About Us : This company namely, M. C. MOWJEE & CO. PRIVATE LTD. is one of the pioneers in the manufacture ofBUILDERS' HARDWARE in India. It was established in the year 1921. It has a large unit of its own situated inKolkata (Calcutta) with a labM.C.Mowjee & Co force of 300 workmen. The products are manufactured in accordance with the needs of most major National projects, Housing schemes and the trade throughout the country. It has beenactively engaged in International markets by exporting its products to several Countries, such as : The UnitedKingdom, Iraq, Maynamar (Burma), Singapore, Malaysia, Indonesia, Mauritius, Sri Lanka, Malwi and East AfricanCountries. The raw material required for the Company's production are procured from Major Steel Plants, viz. The Tata Iron& Steel Co. Ltd., Indian Iron & Steel Co. Ltd., Steel Authority of India Ltd., etc. The materials are purchased inbulk quantities and stored in the factory warehouse. Before using the procured materials for production, samplesare drawn and are tested in its Laboratory for Chemical composition, Hardness, Tensile strength and other specificrequirements laid down in the relevant specifications prescribed by The Bureau of Indian Standards (equivalent toBritish Standards). The company has installed modern automatic machines in which three to four operations are done in one singlestroke. The Company has its own modern Electroplating Plant where its products are plated in different types likeCopper Oxidised, Brass Plated, Zinc Plated, etc. with a minimum coating of 25 microns in thickness as specified inThe Indian Standards Specification. The Company is also manufacturing its products in Polyester Powder Coatedfinishes in various colours as required by its clientele. The Polyester Coating is unique in nature, such as - Rustpreventive, Chemical resistance, Scratch-proof and Electrically insulated. The Company itself has a team of qualified professional Engineers and Technocrats who keep an eye on qualitycontrol at every step of on-line production. Quality control of each and every piece is made, Rust preventive oil isapplied as required before being packed in card-board cartons lined with polythene sheets shrinked wrapped andfinally packed in corrugated cartons lined with PVC sheets inside, strapped by plastic hoop eventually palletized forshipment.Being a well known export-oriented unit of repute producing products of high quality standards, it is approved asan I.P.Q.C. (In-process Quality Control) Unit by Export Inspection Agency setup by the Government of India inthat the Company is authorised to inspect the export products by itself and issue Certificates of inspection onbehalf of the Inspection Agency to the Customs for export of its products.The Company's products are as per The Indian Standard Specifications equivalent to British Standards, laid downby the Bureau of Indian Standards whose senior officials visit the Works of the Company regularly to inspect andcontrol the standard quality of its products.The Company is represented by its Directors on National and International organisations as under: Confederation of Indian Industry Indian Chamber of Commerce Engineering Export Promotion Council The Oriental Chamber of Commerce The Bureau of Indian Standards Feria International De Bogota (South America)
