• About Us : Established in 1973, CGDB has at first acquired a great experience in machining special alloys and titanium mainly used in the top fields of industry and automotive components. In the following years the medical fields became more and more important, particularly as far as the production of hip prostheses is concerned. In 1983 / 1985 CGDB completely allotted its production capacity to the orthopaedic field and also started selling all over the world orthopaedic implants, osteosynthesis materials and devices for orthopaedics and traumatology under Bioimplants trade-mark. Such a specialized production required an improvement of the technological know-how and this was achieved thanks to sophisticated control devices, automatic threading machines, numerical control centres and special devices for surface cleaning and implant decontamination. To perform this development program, the company made use of skilled consultants' experience in the field of bioengineering. Through the acquired experience, the daily contact with hospital reality and with qualified surgeons, the company has been producing orthopaedic implants constantly advanced both in the engineering and in the medical fields. As a result of this policy, CGDB SRL has enlarged its business and, under Bioimplants trade-mark has made its technology and innovation known not only on the domestic, but also on the foreign markets. In this way CGDB SRL progressed and in 1989 received the award of the Chamber of Commerce for the high grade of innovation introduced into its manufacturing processes.
