• Company Name : Stage Sound Ent Ltd
  • About Us : Stage Sound Ent Ltd long established Pro Audio company (est. 1973) that does some manufacturing to suplement our hire and sales activities. We are seeking interest from the orient from a company who would like to manufacture fiber glass coaxial horn product under liscence. It is suited to many different applications including theatrical venues, nightclubs, auditoriums, rock concerts and sporting venues. It has exceptional performance characterisitcs and has been well proven in numerous concerts and live shows in Auckland NZ see: www. Soundman. Co. NzWe would like to see it manufactured for the international market but we lack the resources to do this ourselves as we are located too far away from the market for this to be viable. The product was at one stage patentable due to its unique phase plug design which makes it unlike any other similar product made anywhere in the world. At one stage John Lee of Tom Lee's Music in Hong Kong was intending to manufacture these units in Hong Kong but walked away from the project as he was unwilling to proceed without us providing him with a world wide patent. We were very disapointed to lose Johns support. Our investigations suggested that it was still patentable in both mainland China and the USA and may very well still be. We could not get a world wide patent because we had sold to many in NZ. There are further refinements that we can do to improve this product further which we would like to be involved in. This speaker system never fails to impress anyone listening to it for the first time. The performance is astonishing and it has amazing transparency but does not sound like a horn in the usual sense of the word with no obvious mid range honkiness. It is usable from 180Hz to 20kHz. Power handling is 1000 watts. Sensitivity is 106db per watt meter. Crossover frequency is 2. 3khz. It can be lifted with one hand and mounted in a plywood sleeve or on a gimble yoke on a hoist stand or hung from a lighting truss in a string or cluster. They have also been used as satelite speakers in nightclub situations to confine the sound to the dance floor. They are in use in NZ's largest private schools auditorium. They are normally used in conjunction with sub woofers crossed in at 200Hz. And have approximate coverage area of 30 degrees by 40 degrees. Maximum SPL with the original B and C speakers fitted was measured at 140db per watt meter but this may be improved considerably by updating the drive components. We are also developing a highly inovative self powered line array speaker system using planar drivers that we would like to have manufactured in China. We are keen to build a co operative and mutually benificial relationship with a well established and competant Chinese manufacturer who has the ability to assist with the production, promotion and marketing of this wonderful product. We do not have any unrealistic expectations as far as royalties are concerned but we would place great emphasis on the honesty and integrity of our partner. Please not it is possible tha for some strange reason our web site has been blocked by the Chinese government. Is this is the case we would like to know why so we can make any changes required to remove any offensive language.
