• About Us : An Introduction to Makhad FarmMakhad Farm, a family ownership in the historic village of Makhad, is located on the bank of River Indus in Punjab's Jand Subdivision (District Attock) in Pakistan. Spread over an area of approx. 5,000 Acres with 5-Km river-front, natural grasses, rich in proteins & carbohydrates, abound for livestock-grazing. Makhad Farm's Livestock Wing was established in the year 2000, for breeding & fattening purposes with less than half dozen heads. Presently, there are a scores of heads of cattle, entrusted to shepherd families for the stated purposes at different locations on the Farm. Pure Frisian, Red Sahiwal and local Dhani steers are used for breeding purposes. Properly constructed Sheds provide shelter to the Livestock. Trained shepherds provide medication to the herds. Inventories regarding livestock are kept and upgraded as the occasion arises.Until recently, Makhad Farm had a sizeable herd of breeding camels, presently reduced to a few dozens across the River Indus in the Pukhtoonkhwa Province (previously, N.W.F.P.) of Pakistan. The area is ideal for breeding and raising quality camels.This sizeable piece of land spread over kilometers of Savannah, plains, undulating country, small streams, deep gorges and gullies and one odd swamp here and there, is home to and a natural habitat for a variety of wild game. Spread across the Farm, are purpose-built Outhouses of different sizes.In our private Game Reserve, we provide hunting opportunities during winter season. This huge protected piece of land is a natural home to many species of WILD GAME. Chinkara, Giselle, Wild Boar, Coyote, Grey Foxes, Black Partridges, CiCi and Grey Partridges, abound in their natural habitat and environment. The Farm is a paradise to a Rifleman and a Shot-gunner alike. The 5-Km River Indus front, which was famous in this stretch for Mahaseer fishing, can be developed to an Angler's heart's content!Our Farm also has a great potential to keep a hunting-size herd of Oryx and Blackbuck Antelopes; the area being extremely compatible and a natural habitat for these two exotic game animals.Our virgin farmland has been tested for development into Orchards (Citrus, Pomegranates, Olives, Figs, etc) or growing Cotton (the area being totally free from viruses, pests, etc) through lift-water irrigation directly from the River Indus.Having great potential of exponential expansion, Makhad Farm requires further investment. The investment can be for the game farm alone or the cattle farm or for the combination. Our terms of lease would not be stingy. Outright sale may also be considered as an option.The area being traditionally crime-free can probably be boasted as the most peaceful in entire Pakistan.
