Before privatization it was called Galati Beer Factory and after 1990, S.C.RO BEER S.A.BROUMartens SARIJ MARTENS n.v. from Bocholt, Belgium bought the S.C. RO BEER S.A. interests from FPS, the government representative, on 8th of May, 1998. On 29th of August the shareholders decided to increase registered capital and to change the company name into S.C. MARTENS S.A.BROUWERIJ MARTENS n.v., which owns the majority of stocks is the fourth beer producer in Belgium with a tradition of eight generations since 1758. After buying another beer factory in Czech Republic in 2000, we can speak about The Martens Group because it owns the majority of stocks in these factories. The group has a production capacity of 2.5 millions of hectoliter each year.Bringing know-how and having a vast experience producing beer, BROUWERIJ MARTENS n.v. had a key role in the later technical and technological development of the factory from Galati through its capital contribution as well as in developing new products through know-how and technical assistance. Today our beer meets all the standards of the European Union as a result of the investments, license contracts and strict quality control.
