The Founder of the QFP and Chairman of the Board, Mr. Hanna T. Choueiri, established the company and further diversified it's core activities from meat processing to fish processing and canning.The tuna canning line was commissioned in early 1996. Since then, QFP continues to produce and distribute some of the best canned tuna from Africa. The company's canned tuna, TONELLIcanned tuna has proven to be favorite in many countries. The brand has taken big shares in many markets.QFP's success in the industry has been the result of a true combination of inspiration and dedication. Backed by forty years of experience with leading world tuna canners, the production team, in close collaboration with quality assurance, continues to deliver products reflecting both safety and great taste of tuna fish.The cannery is situated in the coastal industrial-port city of Tema, Ghana's main tuna landing port, and one of Quality Food Processing Co. Ltd.st Africa's busiest. It occupies a large area. Staff are mainly women, with men handling the machinery and equipment operations. Total employed is 160. This has positively affected the socio-economic well being of many families in the vicinity of the plant and beyond. This number continues to increase.... QFP pursues total environmental friendliness regarding effluents and workforce safety. The company looks at its team as it's highest assets. With quality and productivity well within industry standards, QFP continues to work towards higher job satisfaction and quality human resource through in-house and external training and social activities. The workforce's choice of the motto of'It's quality, not quantity that matters!' is a clear indication of the general workforce mood.Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP) and Total Quality Management (TQM) are fully adopted, and QFP's HACCP program, dubbed BULLSEYE, is in full swing since 1998. The plant maintains full records of the process, put under the client's disposal at any time. The tuna is guaranteed to be Dolphin friendly, with 100% of the tuna processed being locally caught. That is why QFP refrains from offering types of tuna other than Skipjack and Yellowfin which are fairly abundant in Ghanaian waters.Suppliers of the cannery are all located in its vicinity and are of international caliber. Various media is used in packing and only oil for canning is imported. The company therefore relies on minimum raw material stocks which ensures some of the highest quality materials and ingredients to end up with a great taste, great value canned tuna products.QFP's goal is to produce safe, high quality and great value tuna products.
