Becker & Co.nalist, writing and editing, over a 10-year span, for United Press International (its Newark, N.J., and New York bureaus); The New York Daily News; and The Cincinati Enquirer. Then I spent almost four years as an inhouse publicist at the corporate office of Federated Department Stores, Inc., based in Cincinnati. From there I went to a large and a small ad agency and then, in 1993, formed my own company.Lately, I have worked with a growing number of Chinese companies in need of marketing communications. My facility in speaking Mandarin and my cultural sensitivities have created valued relationships. This area has contributed to the growth of my business.I also own B-Z International, Inc., a company that finds products for American companies that need a particular item to maintain their profit margins. These items include household products sold by mass merchandisers. We have a fully staffed office in Zhongshan, in the Pearl River Delta in southern China, about 90 minutes from Hong Kong and two hours from Guangzhou. We also can help American companies navigate the domestic Chinese market should they wish to sell their products and services or to set up a joint venture with reputable local partners.
